In A Galaxy Far Far Away.......

Well, this is where I show what kind of calibre nerd I really am. I'd like to point out, I have read more books than most people ever look at and that many of them are considered difficult and classics.
But I also enjoy reading the Star Wars fan-fiction novels as well.
I've always loved Star Wars. Not with the all consuming love that drives young men (and in very rare cases) and young women to dress up and play nothing but Star Wars games and memorise abundant amounts of trivia, but to the point where I really loved the ethos of their universe. I mean, Jedi Knights get lightsabres AND the Force. Personally, if I had the Force, I would the least trustworthy person in the world. "You WILL give me all your money." or "You WILL go out with me." (I think nerds around the world would be using that one; and STILL failing to get a date).
But getting to the point of this post would be a good idea. The reason I really do enjoy the novels is because most of them are well written, light, enjoyable, well humoured and their storylines are easy to follow but not boring. MIchael Stackpole, Aaron Alston, K.W. Jeter and especially Timothy Zahn wrote amazing books all set in a universe that so many of us are familiar with.
You don't even have to be a nerd to enjoy them.
p.s. I realise this hasn't been the most amazing post. Come back next time when I tell you what I think about Dan Brown.

Couldn't have said it better.
I'm a 36yo woman with a massive collection of Wonder Woman comics...sorry...graphic novels, an even bigger shoe and boot collection, a love of Rugby Union and of First Edition classics and Astro-Physics.
I refuse to be typecast and I have been a Jedi-ite since '77, when I first saw these words scroll down the screen "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... It is a dark time for the Rebellion..."
As for the dress up bit...I've always wanted that Princess Leia outfit...

It's great to meet another Star Wars fan, particularly a woman.
I've never dressed up as any Star Wars character, partly because I am not really into dressing up but also because it is hard to pick which character would be the coolest to dress up as.
That's my dilemma anyways.

Well I too have never 'dressed up' as a Star Wars character but if I had to most of all, I would love to be a blue skinned Twi'lek Jedi. Like Aayla Secura.
She was the only kick-ass Twi'lek anyway.
And I do love the Jedi Robes...these are easily incorporated in a fashionable woman's wardrobe. Although I would take creative license and wear mine in glorious shades of blue!!
JoshZ...I was in the nightclub scene in 'Star Wars: Attack of The Clones'...when Anakin and Obi Wan are looking for Zam Wessell in The Outlander Club. Alas, I was not some exotic creature, I was still humanoid albeit in a very funky outfit!
I got 'chosen' because I was a TV journo & ex model so I have an agent, blah, blah, I'm not an actor, nor an extra, etc, etc but I jumped at the chance to be in this and get this...I got to ask George Lucas a few questions!! From a journalistic pov.
I was lucky enough to be placed next to his daughter in one scene (she was a Twi'lek, standing next to Ahmed Best and Anthony Daniels who were Imperial officers, I think)...not knowing she was a Lucas.
So, a childhood dream sort of came true...I was in 'Star Wars'. Okay maybe not as a Jedi but you take what you can get!
Thanks JoshZ
