Douche of the Day
April 3rd 2010 12:44
Douche: Apple iPad
Age: N/A
Reason for the douche-baggery: One of Apple's latest "inventions" will be released to the world and has every intention of breaking new ground in the technology world based on its style, functionality and looks.
In today's modern world. the human race does and will not function without the Internet staying close by its side. So everyday, there is usually a team of techno-crazed numb-nuts storming each others brains and trying to figure out ways to make life for the average Jeremiah (Joe is so last decade) a tinge easier through some form of technological fulfillment. Enter the iPad.
First off, I'm not racist towards the technologians, Apple technologians for that matter. In actual fact, I own a handful of products from the Mac line (iPod Touch, Macbook Pro, old 30gb iPod) and I have no qualms with them, thus far. However there comes a time when a latest innovation in technology seems too dressed up to be perfect and hence seems redundant, leaving one to feel shortchanged. And I need that change for a train ticket.
A recent article came out regarding the out-pour of devotion by the fans of Apple who have lined up for hours upon hours waiting for the 'hottest gadget' of 2010 to hit the shelves. First off, isn't the GFC still looming over our heads? Apparently people believe that spending hard-earned dollars on the latest fad will somehow numb their minds from that reality and make every day cushier.
They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away. But I believe for these die-hard Apple devotees, an apple a day keeps everyone away.
