Chart Throb

I don't know why I do this to myself.
I don't mean post on Orble. I know why I do that. I mean why do I pick up the latest Ben Elton? I mean, there I am, having bought a birthday present for my youngest brother, walking right past Borders, I look over and "Oh, hello Ben." (insert creepy english voice on italics) Josh, come here, closer, you know you want to......... "But Ben, I have plenty of other books to read right now..." But look at me Josh, I'm half price "Yes Ben I can see that from over here...right over.......who am I kidding?"
I bought the book, as well as a book in the Sword of Truth series and a Neil Gaiman book. I couldn't help myself.
So far Chart Throb is very interesting. The characters don't have the same poetic appeal as High Society, nor does it have the unadulterated gallantry of First Casualty, but what it does have, is its own peculiar kind of charm.
I haven't quite finished it yet, but I think it will be one of those books that I could stay up until an insane hour of the morning in order to do so. But I won't. I will resist the Elton, I will resist the urge, I will resist.......
Who am I kidding?

My hip-hopping, rapper friend,
Yes, this is me with Dean Koontz, that's for sure...
We're suckers for these authors.
I can only hope someday, some way, I will sucker people in the same, beautiful way.

Writing novels is hard work. I agree completely with what David Gemmel said "Anyone that writes a novel, whether or not they get it published deserves a medal."
I definetely agree.

Actually no...I third that!
Well...K.L. was here first and she's a novelist so I fourth that...ohh...you know what I mean...
I agree with David Gemmel too.
I'm not a novelist but can understand the agony of pleasure. You're creating a world.
